Coming from over two decades in the rooms of recovery and also working in the field of alcoholism, it amazes me that the entire world does not know about addiction.  From my center of the universe [me], it doesn’t seem possible that someone in the therapeutic community would not be able to identify an addict/alcoholic.  A good friend Helen says, when speaking about character defects, “You spot it, you got it!”  An interesting article in Counseling Today, “Don’t Turn Away,” is written for those counselors who may not have had to deal with their own demons of addiction.
