Dirk Hanson at thefix.com writes:

The Wall Street Journal quotes appropriately from her book A Glad Awakening, where Ford writes that addiction “impacts women faster and more intensely, so when we finally seek help—and we hide in our denial longer than men do—we’re sicker physically and emotionally.”

Betty Ford blew the myth for me and I had to face the reality that women could be alcoholics also.
This did eventually lead me to recovery. I am realy grateful she was able to open the doors for many other women to also face their addictions. She should forever be remembered by the many women she helped.
