“The ________ With The Hat”

Once again, there was an article in the New York Times section this Sunday, about “the arts” and recovery.  A friend made the comment to me that she thought that “recovery” was becoming the new “heroic adventure” story-line on Broadway.

In “Wrestling With Recovery Is No Fairy Tale”, David Carr does a nice job of taking the challenging and often tortuous world of addiction out of the sit-com/entertainment show genre into a real and multifaceted drama story.  If you don’t get a chance to see “The ______ With The Hat,” it’s worth checking out how far Mr. Guirgis has brought a complex issue into the art world.
